What are Eco Rewards?
Eco Rewards for Green Travel Choices is a compelling incentive scheme which encourages people to switch from using the car and rewards them for regularly and continually using active means of travel, including cycling, walking, car-sharing and public transport.
The Bracknell scheme received funding from Thames Valley Smart City Cluster and Bracknell Forest Council, with plans to expand nationally.
Members register and report trips by tapping tags on readers or reporting online. They earn from a range of retailers offering free items, discounts and cashback. Earnings can be kept or donated to charities. Walking and cycling schemes require journey verification through manual or automated tracking.
Online shoppers generate referral commissions that typically benefit retailers; Eco Rewards redirects these commissions to fund the scheme and pay members.
How does Eco Rewards work?
The process follows these steps:
- Organisations sign up to participate.
- Employees, students and residents register free.
- Report eco-friendly travel by tapping tags or online reporting.
- View accumulated carbon savings.
- Access prize opportunities and discounts.
- Log in to shop from participating retailers.
- Earn cashback when purchases are logged.
- Receive cashback after retailer commissions arrive.

Where can I shop?
Members access a range of insurance companies, supermarkets and retailers.
Where is the money coming from?
Retailers allocate advertising budgets for referral fees. While most websites retain commissions, Eco Rewards redistributes a significant portion to members, using the remainder to operate the scheme.
Who can sign up?
Any UK resident invited to join can register. Only one account per person is allowed and only the account holder (or parent/guardian of pupils) is allowed to use their account.
How do I get started?
Registration is free and instantaneous through the sign-up page.
Will I pay more for using your site?
No price increases occur when using Eco Rewards links. The price you pay for whatever you buy will be the same, whether you use our links to visit the shop or go to the retailer directly. Special offers may reduce costs further.
Will it cost me anything?
Membership is completely free. We will never bill you or take money out of your bank account.
Receiving cashback payments
When will I get paid?
We send out payments monthly, directly into your bank account.
Are there any minimum or maximum payment limits?
No limits exist. Members earn whatever amount their shopping activity generates.
Earning cash by referring others
Can I earn money by referring friends or family?
Future plans include referral fees for successful recommendations.
How do I refer friends when available as part of the scheme?
Members use the 'Refer a Friend' link in their account and follow the provided instructions.

How do I donate?
Members select charities and donation amounts through their profile page.
Do I have to make donations?
Donations are optional. Members freely decide whether to donate portions or retain all earnings.
How will the donations be paid?
The scheme manages all charity payment processing.
Can I change my charity?
Yes. Members update profile information anytime and select causes during payment requests.
